Power and range

After the first start, Honda e "scared me" - the mileage numbers showed only 132 kilometers range when fully charged. I instantly compared it to the Mini SE. Even though it is a city car, such values would be extremely low for a battery with a capacity of 35.5 kWh (the usable capacity is slightly lower, 28.5 kWh to be exact).
The WLTP consumption measurement method assumes a range of up to 220 kilometers, so the value of 132 kilometers was a bit off and was calculated from previous use. I hoped to get at least to 180 - 190 kilometers. The first ride was on the highway from the dealer in Bratislava to Galanta. I was wondering what effect the front grille will have on the car's aerodynamics and, as it turned out, Honda e doesn't enjoy the highways. Power consumption at 110 km / h stabilized at a relatively high 21 kWh / 100 kilometers. In terms of usable capacity, it would be a range of only 135 kilometers. Better not even try motorway speeds above 120 km / h.

When I drove from Galanta to Trnava with the intention of sports driving (maximum acceleration, highway speed 130 km / h), I ended up on a 52-kilometer route with a consumption of 26 kWh / 100 kilometers - the real range would be a weak 109 kilometers. However, it is still necessary to keep in mind that this is a city car.
In the city and during a combined driving outside of the city with maximum speed of 90 km / h, the consumption has stabilized at 16 kWh / 100 kilometers with a real range of 178 kilometers. These are exactly the numbers you should expect from a little Honda. After a week driving the "e" (highway rides, city, out of town), my range averaged on 165 kilometers.
If you only use Honda e in the city, the range is okay, but if you live somewhere outside the city and do not have a wallbox in the garage, you will constantly struggle with charging and the usability of the car.
As far as charging is concerned, it is a pity that Honda did not implement faster and possibly more stable charging. On a 50 kWh quick charger, it showed me the fastest charge at 42 kWh, as soon as the battery was charged to 41%, the charging speed dropped to 32 - 35 kWh. At about 65%, the speed dropped further to 19 kWh. The standard charging speed from the home socket was 2.1 kWh.
Honda e has an engine with an output of 113 kw (150 hp) with a torque of 315 Nm transmitted to the rear wheels. The electric motor can fire the car from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds, which is not the fastest for an electric car.

"E" is quite an entertaining car on the paper and also in reality and has a small turning radius - less than 4.3 meters and a relatively brisk acceleration to 50 km / h. That makes Honda literally a go-kart for the city. You can make donuts or gentle skids with it almost any time. Remember that you should try such things in an enclosed space and not during normal traffic. Although the Honda e is a very fun car, I must say that the electric Mini is a bit more fun.
